This sterling silver and bronze artisan brooch has a modern design that makes wonderful use of the unique qualities of its materials. A lightweight, loosely formed square of silver is intersected by two segments of bronze wire. Fine texturing has been applied to the silver creating a subtle interplay with light. The result is an understated yet exquisite piece. The back of the brooch is hand engraved with the name of the piece "1992 Basic Elegance", its materials "Sterling Bronze", and the artist, Donna McAfee's, signature. Circa 1990.

In 1978 Donna McAfee earned her master's degree in art education. Nine years later she started, McAfee Metalryworks producing beautiful handcrafted jewelry. She sawed, hammered, and formed her materials by hand, using sheet sterling silver accented with 24k gold foil, bronze, and semi-precious gemstones.

Details.....The brooch measures 1.25" by 1.33". In Very Good Vintage Condition. Small imperfections are to be expected in vintage and antique jewelry, we consider it to be part of their charm.
